I finally made myself a needle book, its totally free style done, I did ues some selvedges to bind it with, and the Cross stitching was done by me, I love it. its from a Black Bird design.

I made a 16.5 x 16.5 quilted pillow sham, using applique, embroidery and quilting to give it texture and a heart so she will have life. For this Hop you are to express yourself in a Word or Words. 

I bought a pattern from Carrie Payne at www.believemagic.com, her esty shop has fabulous kits. Now this isnt one, but it inspired me to make my own. I am looking forward to working with her kit that I did buy, especially her Girl Art Quilts. 

Dearly and mostly I would say, I am a very devoted person. My friends become my family and very few people are strangers to me. 

I have really wanted to play with some texty prints. Making journals and using applique. This is the year I am going to do it. 

I love the printed fabric on the left, its sewing instructions. My mother bought me a bundle for Christmas from Sewmeasong on esty. 

This pillow has more cute texty type print that I just love, all these wonderful words. I used a Paper Piecing tutorial by Susan Druding, Square in a Square. I could have used it in the current promotion Project Quilting but I forgot the deadline time. 

So Now I have 2 wonderful Pillows

But Wait, thats not all.... I had to make a gift, most of what I sew isnt for me, except these pillows I am keeping. I made a sewing kit for my daughter n law, Erica, She designed her blog this week and you hopefully will see her in the future. Her Birthday is Jan 1st, and I made her this sewing kit and it has words.

SIMPLE SEW IS MOVING UP !!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY MONTH

My winner for the Just Cross Stitch mag is Richard and Tanya Quilts. What a sweet couple and what fun they have quilting with the family. 

I am working on alot of Quilts, I just got the beautiful dark bundle in for a Value Quilt I am following on Stitched in Color. 

This is my newest grandson Trenton who got to spend the night with gandma.. what fun he was and belly laughed, he is 3 months and you know the sweetness of that !!! 

Its my Birthday Month and its the greatest Birthday ever  ! My family have given me wonderful one on one time and gifts. I will show you more later. 

They sang HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO me and I can still hear it in my head the love !!

SEWING MAKES ME INTO SOMEONE I AM NOT

Sewing makes me be patient, in real life I am not ! Sewing makes me concentrate, something I rarely do .
Sewing makes me want to be perfectionist, but in real life I am definitely NOT! In real life I love stepping out of the norm, I am not competitive but I like a race.
Sewing has caused me to be neat and organized, and I am most definitely not in other parts of my daily life. 
I am not saying I dont like Sewing, I love it, all of it, making quilts, clothing, crafts and the love of cross-stitching. Its not a bad thing to cross over into what your not and being something your not sometimes. Something I dont like in my real life is being a procrastinator , is sewing making me procratinate?  
Do I do this because I am afraid of not being perfect, afraid to slash the stash.... I will have to wait and see, As I complete my large projects and put a few quilts over my love ones and me, then I will know if it was worth the wait and did I procrastinate or am I being a perfectionist? Or performing and developing my self esteem. 

I am a winner ! From Intrepid Threads, this is a precious christmas fabric or not, but the polar bear panel is to adorable. I just want to hang it up and look at it. Cutting will be hard for me. julie includes notes and wraps it in a package like a present.
