About my header

My shed is my header by my son Darrell, He painted the Robin for me and said that it reminded him of me. Because Robins use other birds nest and if there is an egg in it, they will take care of it just like its their own. He said thats what I do, I have always taken care of others in need of a home when I come across someone in need. Isnt that Sweet, I had told him I wanted a bird and this is the one he chose. Robins have solid blue eggs which are the symbols for him and his brothers and the speckled egg are the others I have taken into my home. It was very touching to me because he researched his piece, He is a true artist and has lots of great jobs. my neighbor had hers done to

SIMPLESEW Sew Kitschy - A Paper Piecing BoM

One block completed for me, it was a fun one, I am getting better with PP and making it fun, by joining in with QUIET PLAYS, Block party starting this month, but its never to late to join this party. The linky stuff is at the end of the month and here is the first block and I am going to show you the goals. I dont cut my Pp to size either and I love the Retro and linen look, I also played with some FMQ designing, I am getting comfortable with quiding my needle and not afraid it will bite me or I mess up my project. I do want to make every block and enjoy it.THANK YOU  for the free pattern and instructions.
linking up to freshly piece on WIP Wed but what day is it really..

    1. Do you feel the desire to refresh potholders and towels after xmas or holidays. I usually like to do it prior.

  4. Thanks so much for the visit and your sweet words. I am impressed with your first block for the retro sewkitshy. My first one was a failure so I have to start again. I am getting a bit better with the PP doing this vintage revival block-along. I tried the glove and pot holder earlier and so I did not have a clue what I was doing. The BOM button is precious and so is the quilt. It is so clever. It really appeals to me. Good luck with your second block. Can’t wait to see it. genie

  5. Have fun with the paper piecing! I did some for the BOM sampler quilt I did in 2012 but am not a big fan of it (too impatient to get things done in the little time I find to put aside for sewing!)

  6. Looks like you're off to a good start.

The rest of the Sew Kitschy blocks look like they are going to be awesome, too. I love the retro feel of it all, yet everything pictured can still be found in a modern kitchen.
