About my header

My shed is my header by my son Darrell, He painted the Robin for me and said that it reminded him of me. Because Robins use other birds nest and if there is an egg in it, they will take care of it just like its their own. He said thats what I do, I have always taken care of others in need of a home when I come across someone in need. Isnt that Sweet, I had told him I wanted a bird and this is the one he chose. Robins have solid blue eggs which are the symbols for him and his brothers and the speckled egg are the others I have taken into my home. It was very touching to me because he researched his piece, He is a true artist and has lots of great jobs. my neighbor had hers done to

Welcome to Around the World Blog Hop

Mara from secretlystitching invited 3  People to join the hop from last week to write this week August 25  ME.. Shirley here at SS,  Then Nesta of Ella and Nesta's Little Room.  And 3rd Around the World Blog Hopper is Deborah of Sunshine Through the Rain, she lives in Indonesia.

SimpleSew, (me) has invited Sharon from ColorGirlquilts. She is bright and very Good. She also sells patterns. Kathy from KATYQUILTS AND Amy from Aquiltingsheep, each one of these Artist are differnt in their genre and what they give to the quilting and craft community. I am also meeting them, but have followed them for some time. Next week they will answer some questions, Which will be September 1st and they will tag 3 people. I will answer my question and bomb you with some photos in case you want to skip my writing, Mara teases me I write the way I talk. She will proof this and I will fix what you cant understand. :)

What a great way to make friends. 1. What am I working on?A million things.. I have 2 new more grandkids on the way. I can work on anything anywhere in my house, I encourage creativity in my home and my neighbors frequently ask for my advice from parties, to decorating and they often hand down things to me to refurbish, Love it. I have a great Quilting Room my sons made for me..

2. How does my work differ from others in its genre? I see this word frequently and I don't think it applies to anywhere in my life:  I like to make it my own and recycle, I sew seasonally and emotionally. If someone needs something,  I like to make it,  and that usually means making it their style. For example a baby nursery item, something that has to be used everyday, I don't like to make things like mini's I to like sew for a purpose.

3. Why do I write/create what I do?I create out of purpose, emotional it expresses my soul, I feel like I am giving my family and friends a part of me. I have cross stitched all my life. I was taught by my family to work and make it work. My grandparents built their own original home. My mom was always doing repurposing items and changing her life, now she is a chef and makes gorgeous cards, After I accomplish quilting, I want to move to mix media. I write only because it creates some friendships and hopefully later on in life one of my grandkids will read this and know that I created what I did for their hearts .  One night I was really sick and on the internet looking for something to do. I came across MaureenCracknells blog, she had just started blogging. I was in alot of pain and just diagnosed with RA and AS, I commented on her blog and she answered me right back at like 1 am. we conversed for a bit and she told me this was therapeutic, and it is. I have actually made some great friends and this way I can function the way my body does. I love Instant Gram now.  I work in 2 groups.

Now I will hit ya with some pics, some will have a caption some I think you will know.

I work in 2 swaps.

As a follower of yours, I kinda wondered if you had fallen in a pile of fabric and disappeared! Praying the health problems will be solved and the family problems be peacefully and lovingly settled. I miss hearing from you!
